Support during withdrawal from psychiatric medications.

No one should stop taking a psychiatric drug abruptly. Withdrawal effects can be severe, disabling, and even lethal. Talk to a medical professional. Most important, inform yourself about safe tapering.

I have been truly blessed to meet Dee at a point in my life when the darkness and despair seemed unsurmountable — a bad breakup, a beloved career path reaching a dead end, poverty, suicidal states — I really didn't see a reason to live. Dee became that light at the end of the tunnel, with her loving, devoted, continuous support.

Withdrawal Support

Withdrawal from psychiatric medications can be agonizing, terrifying and disruptive to all aspects of normal functioning. It can strain family systems to the breaking point, interfere with social relationships, affect physical health, and make it impossible to think, sleep, or work. If you have decided to withdraw from medication, I am here to support you through this process.

My philosophy is simple: You are not broken beyond repair. You were never destined to go through life dependent on medications, especially medications whose efficacy is now strongly being questioned by many in the medical community. In fact, there are many in the field who now say that psychiatric medications themselves are disabling, and that in many cases we are overprescribing medications for normal reactions to life’s stresses.

Withdrawal is not easy, but if you proceed slowly and gently, with careful tapering, you can do it. At first you may need support to navigate the physical and emotional effects of withdrawal. Hypnosis is a state that possesses an extraordinary quality of mental, physical and emotional relaxation, so at this stage, hypnosis can be an effective way to lessen symptoms, promote restful sleep, reduce anxiety, and speed up the pace of withdrawal. Later, as the symptoms abate and you are better able to focus, the original reasons for your having been medicated will likely surface to be recognized and healed. While medications are administered to cover up the problem and to “help people cope with their lives,” both Hypnotherapy and Compassion Key gently and lovingly allow the issues to reveal themselves and to be permanently put to rest.

Through the years I’ve received assistance for a lifetime of anxiety using face-to-face psychotherapy and medication, but Dee’s skilled intuition guided me to the source of the issue. Being able to heal that source is magical to me.
